A Facebook OTP scam is a trick where someone convinces you to share the one time password that Facebook sends to your phone or email. The moment you hand it over, you’re often giving someone the final piece they need to get into your account.<\/p>\n
Sometimes it even comes from a hacked Facebook account that belongs to someone you know, which makes the whole thing seem normal for a minute.<\/p>\n
An OTP exists for one reason. It proves that the person logging in is really you. Facebook sends it after a login attempt, then waits for the correct code. If a scammer already knows your password, or they have started a password reset, that OTP becomes the only thing standing in their way.<\/p>\n
One day they’ll say they’re running a contest. Another time they’ll claim your account is about to be suspended. Some pretend to be Facebook support. Others act like an old friend who accidentally used your phone number and now needs “just one code.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
They tell you to check your phone because a code is coming. Seconds later, Facebook actually sends an OTP because the scammer has triggered a login request.<\/p>\n
