A Facebook charity scam is a fake fundraising effort that tricks people into donating money. Sometimes the scammer pretends to be a real charity. Other times they invent a heartbreaking story and create a page that looks convincing enough. The details don’t have to be perfect because people often react before they stop to check.<\/p>\n
Most people don’t send money because they’re careless. They send it because they want to help. I actually think that’s a good instinct, even if it gets abused now and then.<\/p>\n
The posts often use photos copied from somewhere else. They may claim there’s only a few hours left to save someone. They ask you to share the post with everyone you know. That sense of urgency pushes people forward before questions even show up.<\/p>\n

Because fake fundraisers are easy to build, checking a few things matters more than moving fast. Search for the charity outside Facebook. Look for an official website.
