Ads have a way of appearing exactly when you don’t want them. You’re reading something. Tap. An ad opens. You’re trying to use an app. Another one appears.
Start With Your Phone’s Ad Settings
On Android, open Settings and look for Google or Privacy settings. The exact wording depends on your phone brand and Android version. You can usually find controls related to advertising or ad privacy there.
iPhone users can open Settings and go to Privacy & Security. Look for Tracking. Turning off permission for apps to track your activity won’t remove every advertisement, but it reduces how closely ads can follow what you do.
And honestly, this is worth doing even if ads don’t bother you much. Fewer apps tracking your behavior is a good trade.
Check Your Browser Settings
• Private browsing won’t magically remove advertisements. It mainly limits what gets saved on your phone.
• A browser with built-in blocking is usually my first choice because you don’t have to keep installing extensions or fiddling with them.
Remove Suspicious Apps
Raj had this happen after installing a free wallpaper app. He removed it on a Sunday afternoon and stopped reopening the same five tabs every morning because those annoying pop-ups had finally disappeared.
